Botox and Dysport Injections in Boca Raton
Botox and Dysport are very similar products. Both are neurotoxins that block muscle contractions, which make them ideal as a facial wrinkle treatment in certain areas of the face. They are both derived from botulinum toxins, which are safe in small amounts. There are some notable if minor differences, and our doctors can recommend and help you decide which one is best for your particular need. Both Botox and Dysport help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing the muscles beneath the skin. By relaxing and stilling the muscles, the skin above them becomes smoother.
While neither will eliminate wrinkles for good, either is a great choice for patients who aren’t realizing satisfactory results with topical products such as creams or serums. While both treatments contain very similar main active ingredients, there are molecular differences that may make one treatment more effective for certain people, or for certain applications. For example, Dysport diffuses more so it will spread across a wider area. This can be an advantage in some areas and a disadvantage at other times. Dysport has received approval to treat only glabellar lines, which are the short vertical lines between the eyebrows. Botox on the other hand has received approval to treat glabellar lines, plus forehead lines and crow’s feet. Many practitioners believe that Dysport yields faster noticeable results that diminish more quickly than those seen with Botox.
